Experience
Dr Timothy Willis completed his anatomical pathology training in 2019. He trained at multiple Queensland tertiary hospitals including the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital and Gold Coast University Hospital. Prior to completing medical school, Timothy worked for 7 years as a medical laboratory scientist in anatomical pathology.

For the last three years Timothy has been employed as a staff specialist pathologist at Gold Coast University Hospital with a strong interest in gynaecologic and gastrointestinal pathology. Timothy has been the lead pathologist for the gynaecologic oncology, colposcopy and paediatric pathology multidisciplinary meetings in addition to attending and presenting at the gastrointestinal pathology meeting. He has presented at local, state and international conferences and has a strong interest in the emerging fields of digital pathology and the use of molecular pathology in the classification and diagnosis of gynaecologic and gastrointestinal malignancies.

Timothy enjoys teaching medical students and junior doctors. He has previously lectured in Pathology at Bond and Griffith University Medical schools. Timothy is a current anatomical pathology registrar supervisor and regularly holds teaching sessions in gastrointestinal and gynaecological pathology for all Queensland and Northern Territory anatomical pathology registrars.
