Experience
Dr Pillai graduated from the National Pirogov Memorial Medical University, Vinnytsya, Ukraine and since then has worked in the United Kingdom, India and Australia.

He trained in Anatomical Pathology in Australia and obtained fellowship with the Royal College of Pathologists in 2015.

Sooraj has since worked as Consultant Pathologist at Pathology Queensland Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, QML pathology and currently holds position at Pathology Queensland Gold Coast University Hospital.

Interests
His subspecialty interest includes gastrointestinal pathology, and he is the designated pathologist for Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary multidisciplinary team meetings at the Gold Coast University Hospital.
